Privacy and cookie notice

This notice explains how RemoteSkills handles personal information collected through this website. It also explains the optional analytics choice available when analytics is configured.

Who is responsible for website information?

RemoteSkills, based in Burnley, United Kingdom, is the controller for personal information submitted through this website. Questions and data-protection requests can be sent to contact@remoteskills.co.uk or raised by telephone on 01282 574444.

Information we collect

  • Information you enter in the enquiry form: name, email address, company, selected service and message.
  • Basic technical information processed by our hosting and form service for delivery, security and abuse prevention, which can include IP address, browser or user-agent information, request time and server logs.
  • Your analytics preference, stored in your browser so the site can remember whether optional analytics was accepted or declined.
  • If Google Analytics is configured and you actively accept, page-view and interaction information sent through Google Analytics. Analytics remains off before that choice.

Why we use it and our lawful bases

We use enquiry information to read, assess and respond to the business enquiry you chose to send. We generally rely on our legitimate interests in managing relevant business enquiries and protecting the website. Where your enquiry asks us to take steps before entering an agreement, processing may also be necessary to take those requested steps.

We use limited technical information to keep the website and contact route available, diagnose faults and reduce spam or abuse. Our legitimate interest is operating and protecting a business website in a proportionate way.

Optional analytics uses consent. Refusing analytics does not prevent you from using the site or sending an enquiry.

Who receives the information?

Website and enquiry information may be processed by RemoteSkills personnel who need it to handle the enquiry, and by service providers supporting website hosting, security, email delivery and the business mailbox. We may also disclose information where required by law or to obtain professional advice. We do not sell website-enquiry information.

RemoteSkills uses Pakistan-based staff for client service delivery. Do not submit client records or confidential matter information in the general enquiry form. General enquiry content is not intended as a channel for transferring client work. If a proposed engagement later involves international access to personal data, that access and the required safeguards must be assessed separately before work begins.

How long we keep it

We retain enquiry information only while it is needed to respond, manage an active business discussion, keep an appropriate business record, meet legal or accounting obligations, resolve a dispute, or protect the service from abuse. When those reasons no longer apply, the information should be deleted or anonymised. You can ask us for the retention position applying to your enquiry or request deletion using the contact details above.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may ask for access to your personal information, correction, erasure, restriction, or transfer, and you may object to particular processing. These rights are not absolute and the applicable right depends on the lawful basis and circumstances.

Your right to object: where we rely on legitimate interests, you can object by emailing contact@remoteskills.co.uk and explaining the processing you want us to stop.

If you are unhappy with our response, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.

Cookies and optional analytics

The site can store a small first-party preference in your browser to remember your analytics choice. Google Analytics is not loaded unless a verified measurement property is configured and you select “Accept analytics”. If you decline, the Google Analytics script is not loaded.

When analytics is available, the “Cookie settings” control in the footer lets you withdraw or change your choice. Withdrawing disables further analytics events in this browser and removes the analytics script and accessible Google Analytics cookies. You can also clear site data through your browser settings.

Changes to this notice

We will update the date and content of this page if the website’s data handling, providers or analytics setup materially changes. This page describes the website enquiry route; a client engagement may require separate contractual and data-protection documentation.
